lay it out in lavender

lay it out in lavender

fingertips brush the petals

and footsteps lightly tread on Earth;

your star freckled

cheeks and crinkling hazels light

up in the golden glow

each hue brought to life beneath an endless sky,

warm rings of bronze serenity

rest in line with mine

you tuck loose strands behind my ear

and hovering hands brush my cheek,

precious moments lay under the cotton clouds

quick to come but stay a while,

the romanticism of renaissance

glides across the light air

simplistic elegance in warm spring nights,

the delicacy of possibilities

napping behind our teeth

(the garden fairies are waking up)
