A little more:

  • My favorite artist is Frida Kahlo, and I named my cat after her :)

  • When I was 9, I named my family dog Riley after my favorite bookstore in Martha's Vineyard, "Riley's Reads" (which is sadly now closed).

  • My favorite poets are Madisen Kuhn & Adrienne Rich.

  • My favorite fiction authors are Jandy Nelson, Casey McQuiston, Taylor Jenkins Reid, & Elizabeth Acevedo.

  • I met Elizabeth Acevedo at her reading and gave her a copy of my book, that she asked me to sign for her!!!!

  • I was introduced to contemporary poetry my sophomore year of high school by my english teacher, with Acevedo's The Poet X. Now my high school teacher and I are still friends (and do a poetry workshop), and Elizabeth has my book! (I'm so excited I had to say it twice!)

  • I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson is my longtime favorite book. Jandy and I are friends on Facebook!
